Lilla Galambos


Ms. Lilla Galambos, a coloratura singer, was born in Budapest where she attended the Hungarian University of Dance. She completed her singing education at the Vienna Conservatory of Music and graduated with honors.

.Ms. Galambos started her artistic career in her childhood when she performed in a production of "The Sound of Music“ at the Budapest Operetta Theatre. For a few years she has been a member of the vocal ensemble of the Honved Theatre in Budapest as a solo singer and actress. She has sung the main parts in the most important operettas at various music theatres in Budapest, Stubenberg, Eisenstadt, New York and in other cities. Recently she sang the main role, Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow) in Stubenberg and Cagliari (Wiener Blut) in Eisenstadt, Austria.

Her current stage repertoire includes the parts of Blondchen (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Olympia (Hoffmanns Erzählungen), Lili and Clarisse in the operetta Lili bárónő, Sylvia (The Csardás Princess, a.k.a. The Riviera Girl or The Gipsy Princess), Madeline (Ball im Savoy), Laura (Der Bettelstudent) and Adele (Die Fledermaus). She was convincing in the opera The Magic Flute at the Summer Festival in Szombathely, conducted by Rodrigo de Carvalho.

In addition to her successes in opera and operetta performance, Ms. Lilla Galambos „Lillart” also succeeds as concert singer. In 2012, she had a guest soloist appearance at Inter Operetta in Budapest. Her repertoire includes the most significant coloratura arias (Mozart, Offenbach, Bach), which she performs with great success in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, USA and beyond. This year she has been successfully performing concerts in the Metropolitan Room (New York), in The Music Center’s Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles and int the Jacobs Music Center in San Diego with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, further she had almost 40 concerts in Konzerthaus Wien with Salute to Vienna. She regularly sings oratorios from W.A.Mozart: Missa brevis in B, Exsultate, jubilate KV 165, from J.S.Bach: „Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis” and „Aus Liebe will mein Heiland sterben”, Matthäus –Passion, BWV 244.
